Welcome to Recovery Month 2024!

September is National Recovery Month, a month-long celebration of recovery and the millions of allies and individuals across the country that make up this vibrant, hope-filled community. Learn more about the recovery movement, about Doc’s Recovery House, and what you can do to lift your voice and support recovery all month long!

What is Recovery Month?

“Recovery Month celebrates the gains made by those in recovery from substance use and mental health, just as we celebrate improvements made by those who are managing other health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and heart disease.

Each September, Recovery Month works to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible.” (Faces & Voices of Recovery)

Doc’s Recovery House is proud to be a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) and member of the national Association of Recovery Community Organizations. As an RCO, Recovery Month is important to us and our mission, representing the unified voices of recovery across the country, and the many voices of the people, families, and communities who make up this movement.

Fun Fact: Did you know Rochester, MN has TWO RCOs? Doc’s Recovery House + our friends at Recovery Is Happening! Check out our events during recovery month below.

About Doc’s Recovery House:

Doc’s Recovery House is a nonprofit recovery community organization (RCO) whose mission is to reignite the light in each person by treating them with dignity and respect while walking alongside their path to recovery. Based in Rochester, Minnesota, we offer housing and peer recovery support to individuals pursuing a life of recovery.

At Doc’s, our pre-treatment housing program offers immediate connection to housing and peer support to individuals who have just made the decision to pursue recovery and need a place to start the journey and need support prior to residential treatment. We also offer recovery housing after treatment, and a long-term housing program that provides opportunities to our alumni to raise their voices, share their stories, and become trained peer support specialists.
