Recovery Coaching Academy Application

Doc’s Recovery House operates an in-house Recovery Coaching Academy (RCA) that is available for residents in the Step Up Program at no cost

What is the Recovery Coaching Academy?

Doc’s Recovery House offers a quarterly Recovery Coaching Academy for individuals interested in learning more about becoming a peer recovery specialist, or those who are allies of recovery and interested in the training.  Doc’s Recovery House teaches the 46-hour CCAR curriculum, Recovery Coach Academy and Ethical Considerations, including 30 hours of recovery coach academy training and 16 hours of ethics required by the State of Minnesota.

What is a Peer Recovery Specialist?

A Peer Recovery Specialist (also called Recovery Coach), promotes recovery and removes barriers and obstacles to recovery, serving as a personal guide and mentor for people seeking or already in recovery from an addiction to alcohol and or other drugs. What distinguishes a coach from other peer positions is that we stay in the lane of providing support for people in recovery from an addiction to alcohol and or other drugs. (CCAR)

Application for Current Residents

Registration to participate in a Recovery Coaching Academy is limited to promote engaged dialogue and time for discussion and roleplay. Please complete a brief application to tell us more about your interest in becoming a peer recovery specialist, or your interest in taking the class. Please factor 10-15 minutes to complete the application.
